G’day,
New to the forum and knowledge of cars is just from fixing mine. So as the nudists said to each other, please bear with me! The bus is an 89 EA Falcon S pack Wagon and has more thing wrong with it than reasons to sleep with Angelina Jolie, but I love it and have decided not to buy a newish one and do the old falc up. I love the wagon. I have just taken a 90 EA Fairmont Ghia sedan off a friend. Car is in ok condition. I am going to cannibalize the Fairmont as the body is rough, though interior in some parts is better. Im planning to rip it apart for as many parts as possible, engine parts(cover), electrics, shocks etc as they all seem ok. And has a set of Simmons beauties (though green inside sections) on it with brand new Nankang shoes. I am assuming the EA falcon and Fairmont for just about everything would be interchangeable? Is that correct? The Faclons rocket cover seal is leaking and oil leaks from front of head. The ghia seem good. Is it possble to swap? use? The fairmont plugs are new, would they slot straight in? What diffences are there from the two engines? what would anyone recommend taxing and keeping from the engine of the fairmont. It will be a slow work in progress to get it up to speed, though have had it for 10 years and has never failed to start. Just a lot of crappy little jobs that have to be done. I dont have a heap of money, but keen to do up as much as possible. Would love to here suggest as after looking at some of your rides iam serously envious. |

just about everything changes over... just get anything of the fairmont thats better and stick it on the falcon.. should be easy...
yes rocker cover would swap, but why? get a new gasket and you have as much chance of it leaking as the old one... engines should be much the same... MPFI 3.9 lt... has a great deal in common with EB/ED and EF/EL.. many parts are interchangable... |
