Hi,

I want to hardwire my Mio Digiwalker GPS into my BF XR. Jut wondering if anyone has found a good spot to put them in the BA/BF series? I want to get the suction cradle off the window as i hear it is bad for theft.

Cheers

Take the device with you/hide it.

I leave the phone cradle stuck to the window (empty).

Only other option would be, the upper ICC, where the clock/gauges are in Ghias/FPVs.

I plan to still remove the gps unit when i am not in the car. I just want the cradle mounted and hard wired so that its 'plug and play.' I just think the windscreen mount looks a bit messy and wanted something that looked a bit neater in the car. I really dont want wires hanging down everywhere and plugging into the power outlet.

Fair enough.

Either custom mold something using the upper ICC part like I mentioned, or just screw the cradle mount to it (they're replaceable) and hard wire it down the side to the light *cough* power source wiring.

You can get aircon vent mount kits for most GPS's on ebay, i have my Garmin flush to my dashboard on a vent that i have blocked off.

If you want i spose you could run the 12v off your car power to a car charger for your gps and have the cable run up the inside of the aircon duct.

Hi I also have a Mio Digiwalker which I have mounted on the top right a/c vent of the ICC in my BA with a standard phone holder from supercheap which has little clips on the back that grab onto the vent moulds. I then ran the power lead through the vents, behind the icc and hardwired into the power source. Works great for me and looks very tidy, good height for viewing.
