i've got just a standard gli cluster and wanting to kno whether theres a white dial kit for this? cauz i'm thinkin theres more than likely not.

otherwise i was thinkin of adding an EB fairmont digital dash...is there much in the change over in the sockets is there like direct clip in or is that too easy?

another idea was to just paint the dashface white or silver or wateva and have red needles or just leave the face and paint dials white?

need some advising...

Paul

upgrade to a eb fairmont or ed fairmont, xr6, futura dash as it has all the guage you will ever need and you can get a white face cluster kit for it. Look on ebay there is a place at penrith sellign complete dashs with the white face cluster kit done for uner $150 dollars my bet is to look into that and kill 2 birds with one stone

are the facia's in the EA-D series clusters the same as the EF+L - just a sheet of plastic stuff that you can just take out?
If so, i'm going to have some fun with photoshop and a colour photocopyer making my own custom dials..
Was thinking of using OHP plastic etc..

Ive got a gli and recently fitted a full set of autometer gauges (including tacho and speedo). The original cluster loom plug had the tacho signal wire in it (its a solid pink wire) and when you trace it to the printed circuit board on the cluster it just ends. Plugging in a mid series cluster should only need an oil pressure sender. Any thoughts on how I can get my speedo working would be appreciated. :x

ED's have the wire pre-installed even in the GLi's. EA-EB dont however, to make it work u need to run a wire from the coil negative terminal to the right pin at the cluster.. not sure on the pin number as im not at home with my workshop manual but i can look it up for u when i get home.. lol

so i'm guessing that no higher model clusters fit str8 into the EBII standard clip then?

naa they do.. the plug is that same just has a couple of blank spots where mid series (tacho) equipped vehicles had wires... simply adding the wiring is enough for the job on hand...
