hey guys,
rebuilding my mont soon.
i was just wondering what the limits of stock injectors in the i6's are.
going a full rebuild, 20thou overbore with all acl race series bottom end (pistons, rings, bearings), shaved head, au head gasket
crow cam, hardened springs vernier gear, port n polish, extractors, 2.5 mandrel bent, unichip, new water pump, oil pump, plugs, leads, coilpack is only 6 months old, new injectors (obviously) all with a dyno tune.
im hoping to hit 180-190 rwkw.
this is all backed with a freshly rebuilt T5, and the 3.45 LSD will be rebuilt either at the same time or shortly after.

my question is will the stock injectors handle this, and or will i gain anything from going to bigger injectors.
also, if i do go bigger injectors, will i need a better regulator or pump?
also can the stock ecu handle any bigger injectors?

im sorry bud but your not gonna make 190rwkw with that build.
your stock injectors would most likely be fine, but you could upgrade to AU units for the better spray pattern and slightly larger capacity. theres a few guys on here running them with stock computers..

could also throw a 255lph walbro fuel pump in it.. iirc mine was about $150 on ebay..

yer what he^ said. theres no way ul make 190rwkw. i jus chuked a set of roco vr multi point injectors in mine n it made it abit smoother n better on fuel.

i have (much to mitch's annoyance) AU injectors running in my car, now for a lightly modded car such as mine it makes sh*t all difference...

with the mods you're planning, sure why not. least it's one less thing for you to think about

im running au injectors, not a huge difference in performance with them, but power delivery feels alot smoother, possibly due to an increase in torque from a better burn of the spary pattern...

i have a CMS cam, mild head work, exhaust, intake, still on standard ecu and standard bottom end, standard injectors, and i pulled 162rwkw at the last dyno day. (dyno dynamics)

ford freak pulled 175rwkw with same cam and he was on a standard ecu but with a high comp bottom end and more headwork... so there is the potential to hit 180's with the right setup...

well im on about 155rwkw atm with no bottom end work, f**k rings, running rich as f**k because the unichip hasnt been tuned for about 5-6 years.
we'll see what happens.
head of a few falcons running ~170 with stock bottom end and stock ecu, so its a possibility.
realistically id be happy with 180, but as i say, well see what happens.

the au injectors fit straight in?

Sorry to hijack this thread, instead of starting another on a similar note,

So the AU injectors will fit into, and run on an EF with no changes to tuning/fitment/wiring?? They work with an EF computer??

Thanks,

Andrew.

EDIT: The search function actually worked that time and this has been confirmed. :)
