Hey All,

About half a year ago i got my new clutch put in, PBR heavy duty in my el xr6. 2 months crack goes my firewall. got that fixed know last two months my clutch has been playing up. The friction point of my clutch is really low, like towards the firewall, so i turn the bolt thats up against the firewall more towards the firewall so it would bring the friction point up. Its all good for like 2 weeks then the friction point drops back down again, so i turn the bolt more. Its all right for about two weeks then sags back down again!!! im running out cable to tighten that bolt. Is my clutch cable strechting or is something else? If so what cable do i get and how much? Its doing my head in!!! Any help would be good thanx..

I am having this same problem too. I have just installed a new clutch cable yesterday. While i was under the dash i had a good look at the peddle box and it seems all good. The fire wall is all good too.

haha I'm having the opposite problem! =D The friction point is near the tip of release! New clutch under 6 months ago.

lol yous got any idea what it could be exactly? im pretty sure its the clutch cable stretchin but just thought id better double check lol...

i had the same problem with my old EF xr6 and had to replace the clutch 3 times in 4 years and the cable kept snapping.
In the end i found out that there was movement at the firewall when stepping on the clutch. An engineer welded thicker plates on either side of firewall which helped minimise it.

Yer ive reinforced the firewall. Let say for a second its my clutch cable thats causing all this trouble, is there are certain brand or type of clutch cable i have to get?

you've reinforced your firewall, so have you looked at the pedal box. they are also quite prone to tearing out
