Firstly, has anyone got or driven a E-series with a 2,800rpm or 3,000rpm stall. If so, what was your opinion of it?

Also, does anybody recommend a stall builder in/near Brisbane.

And lastly, here are some quotes that I got, anybody know what the differance would be, because of the prices. (Quailty/strength/longevity is all I can think of)

ASNU/Melva $1040 (3000rpm with lock up)
TCS $ 990 (3000rpm with lock up)
QCES $ 850 (2,800 or 3000rpm with lock up)
JMM $ 770 (3,000rpm ) (not sure about lock up???)

it depends on the rest of the combo, ie engine / cam and diff gears - did you speak to gonzo from allfast?

With a converter over 2500 rpm it will cause the ecu to go into limp mode when launching off the line, so you will need an anti-LHM module to overcome this

I was hopeing that when people replied they would mention the cars setup in brief detail. But I am hopeing for just an 'idea' of what they liked/disliked.

I've never heard of allfast, are they in Brisbane?

I've driven a lot of cars with histall's. They all behave differently - as there are a lot of factors that can influence the converters stall point. Your engines torque output and diff gears will play a big part in converter choise, its not as simple as just going out buying a 2800rpm converter and putting it in, expecting it to go well and give you a true stall speed of 2800 rpm.

Allfast are based here in Perth, but I can arrange converter and anti-LHM module packages, and send them Australia wide.

If you tell me what your specific combo is, then I can get back to you with different converter options, or a custom converter can be made to suit your application.

Packages can range from $700 to $1200 depending on the converter, plus freight.

A s**t converter will make the car very 'doughey' or sluggish below the stall speed, a good converter will be tight, but still flash up when required, resulting in better drivability.

Ive got a 3000 JMM hi stall, on a 6cyl 97 EL.
Pacemaker extractors, 2.5inch exhaust, straight through cat, lumpy cam. Did have a powerdyne supercharger fitted and the thing was a f**k weapon.

Now without the supercharger it still performs very well, the stall isnt AS high, but its built that way, the more power the engine provides the higher the stall will be on the JMM stall.

Shame you aint local, i'd let you have a drive.
