Im looking at picking up some aftermarket wheels and tyres off a bloke, who took them off his EL falcon. I drive an EB and so obviously his wheels should fit mine assuming they are in pre-AU offset, yes?

Only problem, he tells me they are Pre-AU wheels, but he used spacers. I was under the impression that the only reason you would use spacers was if the wheels were after AU. Am I right?

When I go check them out I'm going to put one on the car - what should I look for? - is the wheel going to stick out or sit in from the guard? Anything else to tell me if they are the right offset?

if he had to use spacers to make them fit his EL, then they are not the correct offset, obviously

If they are AU offset then the wheels will sink right into the guard, back one will bolt on, but fronts will contact the suspension.

Wouldnt hurt to check them out i guess

Yeah I know - the guy doesnt really seem to know what he's talking about though....Ill check them out because it seems like a good deal if they fit....but I havent high hopes...

If they're pre-AU and thus have no spacers, they should look something like this:



The photo is very grainy, my apologies, I have not got this camera sorted out yet.

You can clearly see the difference between the wheel and the rusty hub in that photo. The rim itself needs to be bridging that gap if it's a pre-au wheel.
