Can anyone tell me exactly where the EF/EL fuel filter is located
and how to get to it???

Jack your car up and its in front of the left hand rear wheel. Its bracketed to the inside of the chassis rail.

Use a Ryco Z373 fuel filter cause the housing is aluminium and seals better against the fittings. Grab two in case you cross thread it.

Z373 is the filter I got.. you have to pull the plastic moulding out of the wheel arch, or it's further toward the front (not over the wheel)??

The car is jacked up and I don't see it.
Do you mean the left wheel from your perspectice when you are sitting in the car?
I've jacked up the sise opposite the exhaust pipe...

its on the ftont left of the car (passanger side) follow the orange fuel lines and it will eventually lead to the fuel filter

You need to get right under the car. The chassis rail blocks your view if you just look under the car. Its held against the inside of the rail.
Left as in left side of the car opposite side to where you sit.
Its about 30- 40 cm in front of the rear tyre surface inboard of the chassis rail on the left side.

I think it is time you buy a manual. Don't forget to release fuel pressure before undoing the fittings by unplugging your fuel pump and start the car until it splutters and dies then try to start it again. Wear goggles. They may not of worked for McBain but they will work for you.


No leaks are allowed at all after the new one is fitted.

Just done mine on EF, the In-pipe was Sized solid !!!! no way 2 move it ,had to cut the line, what A f.............n nightmare, got it done, had to add HP Flex fule hose, at least no leaks, YeeeHaa!!!! : :

This is a great tip, especially as I forgot to do it recently!

If the threads are siezed soak them in CRC first, and tap the nuts with something solid, I use the open end of a 19mm spanner to tap it hard, then more crc, if that doesn't work, try that freeze your nuts off stuff, can't remember its name. I couldn't imagine how fkn hard it would be to fix if you broke it.

Tried crc,& overnite, &" lord of the Tap dance" on it, but N.B.G, as it turned out nothing would buge it, when I cut it off putting ring spanners on the nuts I Still could'nt shift the b........t!!! a well, just added a new flex to the line!!!, bit 'O' strugle flaring the pipe though,
