why not a toploader mate?
if you plan on pushing big power with the 351, i wouldn't be holding your breathe with the T5...

No yelling please No headaches, pretty sure Dellow made the bell housing to suit, I also think the T5 cross member from the XF locates in the right place or wouldn't take much to modify (I would ask if I had a mates phone number), but as "blacksabbath189" stated, if you are going to have big power and use it, this is not the gearbox to be fitting up, but I have seen them more than once fitted behind healthy Clevelands and those owners didn't destroy them, it is up to the person behind the wheel. Better off looking at a Tremec TKO 600 like this one and saving up. http://www.rocketindustries.com.au/desc ... TMTCET5008 EBXR8380 has one behind his twin turbo 8, you could even consider a T56, it isnt up to the TKO specs but still a very strong box, and you end up with another gear to waste your time with

I hat a T5 in my XD with a Clevo (5.8, GRA Twin Carbs).
Dellow make the bellhousing. Use standard Hydraulic fork (Hmm... I have one for sale on ebay brand new!), standard hydraulic setup. You need to specify if your using a 6 or v8 t5 - I used a 6 Cyl one. It made the car *beautiful* to drive, however under power you could feel the box flex. It lasted 8 months before it died trying to take off at some lights (Gee - the bike got off ok though....) Its a very nice conversion - make sure you get a box thats rated to what your going to do though. We modified the XD Crossmember - The XF one is not wide enough from memory. Simple addition of some plate solved that problem. Nigel Nigel |

XD has a totally different gearbox cross member to an XE, nearly everything from XA onwards bolts into an XD including throttle cable, especially if it is out of an XC (handbrake cable is different from memory). One mate fitted a Cleveland into his factory T5 XF S pack (mid 90's) and the other mate fitted a T5 behind his factory 5.8L XD Ghia which was also fitted with GRA Twin Carbs (late 90's). XE and XF share the same cross member setup, this isn't saying the T5 mount will be located in the right place behind a V8.

As for V8 into XF etc it has been longer for me, and it is over 4yrs since my D was swapped back again (it hadn't been worked on for 3yrs before that) for turbo's, 351W and 5.0L stuff.

If you've got a lot of money, put in a T56, no money - put in a top loader.
It'll be a waste of dosh to replace a T5 every 6 months or less. |

Or tread the middle ground. The TR-3550 in its day was said to be basically a top loader with a 5th gear.
