hey guys.
im looking to buy a shortshifter, billet or ripshift. i want to change the height on the shaft. i want a gear stick that is ALOT shorter, like the BA-BF or even the VE shifters. how would you go about getting it like that?

Hacksaw.
I've done this to a few cars, i wouldn't do it to mine though, center console to shifter sit at a perfect height for comfortability. |

If you can handle the wait, get a UPR off eBay US, comes with the extreme adjustable shaft, and they're a s**t load cheaper than the Billets and RipShifts - under $200.00 AUD including Registered Post.
They've got the positive stops and spring loaded. |

if you just want to shorten the gear stick itself (as well as the short shifter) maybe try and get hold of a BA gear stick. its about an 1" or so shorter than the the EF/EL one.
thats what i've got in mine, t sits perfectly in your hand in 2nd and 4th, but isnt too long a reach on 1st, 3rd and 5th. still looks quite long though! damn ef consoles being so low. |

I've got a shortened BA XR6 shifter in my car and its just about perfect for shifting.
