Ok the reason I asked is because I found this Tailshaft on ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=140250328770&_trksid=p2761.l1259
However if you read the item more carefully its been modified to suit the long wheel base car's such as the Fairlane/LTD cars so the item title is abit miss leading. How much do you guy's estimate it would cost to shorten it back to the original EF/EL Length, balance it, and more likely put new uni joints in it (I can put the uni joints in myself)? Thanks

the guy selling that is on drugs that tailshaft is a std nl fairlane tailshaft..
there is no point cutting it down as they are also std on fairmont ghia 6 and v8 and i believe xr6 and xr8 aswell ..as long as its short wheel base.. you can get a alloy tailshaft from a wrecker as long as its from a sedan. it will be ok. i had one fitted to my car before and it was from a el fairmont v8.. and in reference to the flange.. ea and series1 eb had a different style flange and uni. but your being a ed anything from eb2 up to el will bolt straight in. you will pick one up for around $80-$100.. |

Good job I checked on here first wasn't it . I thought it might look sus because he was saying it fits the nf/nl but the title said it EF/EL... wierd. Thanks for the reply Troyman , James

He has alot of stuff for sale from an EF Fairmont ghia so i would say its a SWB driveshaft that will fit your sedan. I wouldnt pay anymore than $50 plus postage. Doesnt he love to slap Tickford on everything!

Yeah I noticed that aswell. Ferntree auto salvage (forum sponser) are asking $75 for one. I think i'll give that tailshaft a miss because I'm abit wary of how he's explaining the tailshaft which is making me wonder what he's done to it. Thanks

Nothing is wrong with my current one I'm upgrading mine to get ready for future upgrades. Have a browse through the forums and you will find why I'm upgrading the tailshaft
