Hi
I have an 1999 AU Fairlane with the premium sound system.

The other day the wife got a flat battery. When I got the car going, the display on the stereo flashed "CODE". I went to Ford and asked for the code which they provided. However it didn't work. I only tried three times and now the display will only flash "ERR" even when I turn the car off.

Any clues????

Bump!!!
I only entered the incorrect PIN 3 times, and the manual says it will cause a delay, but it is ALWAYS flashing ERR.

disconnect battery and try again.

be sure that deck is original unit from factory as ford will only give code respective to your car VIN.

Yeah they gave me the wrong code, I found the correct code scribbled in the manual (underneath the old code). But I cant enter it because of this error. Will try to disconnect battery tonight. Thanks for your assistance.

I disconnected and reconnected battery but it didn't help. ERR is still flashing. What do I need to do? It only gave me 3 opportunities to enter the security code and since then it simply flashes ERR.

FIXED. Turned the key to accessories for 20 minutes until CODE appeared and then put the correct code in and IT WORKS.
