My friend wants to know if and ED xr6 manual gearbox will fit in an el xr6.

I have searched around but couldn't find anything.

yep they are the same, cept EA/EB1 boxes, i think they have a shorter 1st gear.

umm wait up i made a miss take on the first post. Its actually an eb.

but i dont know what series it is.

so eb1 - wont work ???????

wat about eb2 will that be ok

ea box has shorter 1st and 5th, than ef/el manuals, makes getting the speedo right a pain.

ea to el will all bolt straight in its just the ea and series 1 eb has shorter 1st/2nd/3rd and 5th gear ratios..

and wont have any affect on the speedo unless you have the wrong speedo gear

EA - EB1 had a weaker 3 bolt clutch assembly too. You can retro fit the later clutch/flywheel though.
