As per topic, I been offered a ea 5 speed for 800 by my mechanic, good thing is he will let me keep the car at his farm for as long as I need to remove any parts I want...
I am seriously considering it for a manual conversion on my ef fairmont... Thoughts - worth it fellas? It does save me going around all wreckers getting parts, then I might be able to make some money off parts, or scrap metal... |

I agree, thats alot just for manual conversion, and the rest of the car is pretty much useless to your car.

Yeh I wouldnt pay 800 for an EA unless it had 12 months rego, which you could cash in.
See if you can get it for around 500 - you'll probably get around 200 when you crush it, and could even sell maybe 200 worth of parts of it, if your lucky. |

if the rest of the car is good condition?
take the 5 speed out and you might be able to sell off the parts to get some cash back? |

gee...that is pretty pricey I paid $550 for a complete EF manual conversion kit (I have an EL) with the ECU...after selling off the things i didn't need, it cost me $50 bucks to do the conversion.
Haggle it down to like $300 if you need to take it out yourself. phong =P~

Actually, if you can get it for 300/500, put your auto in it, and flog it off with a grand asking price. if its clean enough some fool will buy it.
