G'day guys,
I'm relativley new to mechanical work to my car, but I'm trying to learn by fixing some of the stuff on my car myself. So, I'm currently replacing Leads, Dizzy cap and rotor button, working out of my gregory's, it tell me to 'Loosen distributor clamp bolt' so i can rotate the distributor and access the Distributor cap clamps. Now we all know how hard it is to get to the distributor on these falcons, all i can find is a clamp on the right hand side, which loosens one side of the distributor cap. If anyone can help in any way it would be greatly appreciated. Cheers, renegade334

you dont need to loosen the dizzy clamp .remove the airbox or isc so you can get ya hand in there and just pop the clips off with a flathead screw driver ,piece of piss

Yeah don't undo the 14mm bolt? then your base ign timing will be out of whack>>>>2 clips on the dizzp cap, pop then and left it up and slide it forward.
cheers......

No worries, well before I got your replies I managed to remove the dizzy cap, and I've prepared the new one.
I feel like such a noob asking the next two questions, I'm having trouble removing the rotor button/arm does it just pull off? Giving it a good yank doesn't seem to do much at all. Also, I've removed the short lead and plug leading to the ignition coil, and I have a new one to put in place, put theres no possible way I can get my arm all the way back there, any tips? Thanks for the replies btw renegade334

just use a big flat screw driver to get the rotor button off. Just lever it off gently. probably the factory original....you might have to remove the airbox(3#10mm bolts) to get the coil lead on.

I've already tried that, I'll give it another go tommorow but the direction the rotor arm is pointing means theres nowhere to lever the screwdriver, is it safe to let the starter motor turn the engine over a couple of times to get the arm pointing in a different direction? Thanks
