was trying to find a leak in my extractors this afternoon when i found coolant dribbling down the side of the block, from around cyl 3 area.
this answers my question of where the f**k 10 litres of it goes in 2 weeks 
its not running rougher than usual or anything... can i still drive around like this? or should i replace the headgasket?

well you should replace the gasket asap,but if its only useing water at the moment you may have a bit of leeway for a short while.

stick a bit of chemi weld in it, to hold you over untill you can afford to fix it properly

i had the same problem, was just the engines way of telling me i'm stupid for putting in too much glycol, system flushed and problem gone.

dunno what ppl complain about with the head gaskets on the e series.. they are not as bad as ppl think.. if you get a good workshop manual and can get parts and tools you could do it properly in a couple of days.. it wasn't a welsh plug or anything though was it?? cos when mine first did it it was caused by a welsh plug that had enough and cooked it and yeah led to pretty bad problems.. my advice, get it fixed soon to save you worryin about it

only chemi weld it if your not going to fix it later. i.e runnig it out of rego my mechanic told me
there was a good reason just cant remeber it lol. plus disconnecting heatr stuff and putting it back |

I don't anyone was complaining about the headgasket... Anywho, Alfy, as macca20042 pointed out, could it be a welsh plug? Pin point the exact seeping of the fluid...if it's between the head and block then you gotz problems. I drove my car around knowing I had a head gasket problem...died in my driveway and had to drop the spare motor in quick. So IMO, fix it as soon as possible. phong =P~

get it fixed as soon as you can. Wifes EF11 Ghia is currently in having the head, gasket and (just in case) welsh plugs done. it got warm a couple of times and she just topped it up. The factory Tickford head is now a conversation piece of scrap in my shed (cause it's stuffed).

The factory Tickford head is now a conversation piece of scrap in my shed (cause it's stuffed). if your gonna take the time to pull off thehead, exhaust and intake manifolds then do your welsh plugs.. thats if you do it yourself.. any proper mechanic would advise you to prob replace all heater hoses, welsh plugs and gaskets like intake, exhaust, thermostat etc. sure it may cost more in the short term but i did it the easy cheap way and almost cooked my engine again cos i didnt replace the heater hoses and it dropped all coolant on 2 occasions, one at 4000rpm and another at 100km

Wynn's head gasket and radiator stop leak $10 will solve your problem, maybe for a couple of weeks,months????

Is the oil milky looking.
Like others said, possible welsh plug. If it is a welsh plug make sure you replace them with brass ones as they last alot longer. Then again ford might have them factory, Idk im new to fords =p |
