G'day fellas
Got home from work last night, stopped the car, then about half an hour later jumped back in to go to the supermarket. When I started the car both the Check ABS & Airbag warning lights came on, and have stayed on since. Neither of them were on before hand, and the ABS still seems to be functioning. The airbag hasn't gone off either They are both still on today after driving to work and back. Any ideas?? The car is a 98 EL Futura Cheers Tom.

Theres a very good explanation on airbag diagnostics here:

Yeah I have had a read of them, and dont think it is a fault on either one that is causing it. Reason for this is that they both came on at the same time (starting the car after it sitting stationary in my carport for half an hour) and they are both constantly on, not flashing.
While searching, I also found this, which leads me to believe it is something different: MRE-50L wrote: im just wondering if the Airbag lite is on with the abs lite ?
Any Ideas?

have you tried pulling the battery and leaving it off for a few minutes...it may be a glitch that just needs reset...and smartlock glitches do happen, I've had it once or twice in my smartlock years...

It is disconnected at the moment, will put it back on in a few minutes and see if its still there.

Re-connected battery and nothing, warnings were still there.
But then as Dave said, reverse lights fuse was blown. Swapped another fuse in and the reverse lights started working again, and the warning lights went away. Thanks heaps for that, definatley one to put in the memory banks: Both Check ABS and Airbag warning lamp on constantly and at the same time mean reversing light fuse is blown!
