hi guys, got a couple of queries about modding my ba.

1. is it worthwhile putting a underdrive pulley onto an xt, and is it something i can do myself? (novice mechanic)

2. i might be purchasing an xr icc unit with blue backlighting. will they all fit, or do i have to watch out for anything in paticular? eg climate control? and how do i pick a useful cluster from one that wont suit?

and

3. will a boot lid carpet from an au fairmont fit a ba xt?

thanks for any help guys, its much appreciated.
cheers

ok well have have found out an au carpet wont fit a ba

have bought the xr icc unit, but have been told by one ford dealer it needs "reflashing" or taking the info from the old one and changing into the new one plus changing the bem.
another ford dealer said i just need to change the bem

anyone know if this is correct?
if it is, i dont have the bem from the xr, so am i able to take the xr icc apart and just use the blue lighting parts without hassles?

Use your original BEM with the new ICC. That way your car will still run, then take it to ford so they can reprogram the ICC. It cost 33 dollars last time we had one done.

I've done the ICC and BEM change myself, here's a thread on it.

Oh yeah! When handling an ICC, use the utmost care! Be very careful about keeping it upright and picking it up/putting it down gently. There are alot of horror stories about people screwing up their ICC due to tilting them.
