well i have rebuilt my motor and i have had a stage 1 crow cam and ported head. u think it would be a bit better but it does not even do stand stils now as copared to the standard motor. it does not get going quick untill it hits the 3-3500rpm mark then it throws u back in the seat. i had a standard 2ltr beat me. do u know how that feels
i jus prented that i was not tryin. so what can i do to improve the XLration?? thanks

i had it built by a company localy and i know a few ppl that have had stuff done by them and hve been very happy, and i took it back and the guys told me that it needed dyno tuning cos they can only get the car to run effective then it is up to me and the guy said at the dyno it does not need a tune but need the computer looked at or torque converter upgraded but i know of some one the i was talking to it should run hard as because they had simmiler things done and it goes hard. go figure

if your engine makes power like you say it does this is a fair statment |

sounds like a typical cammed auto complaint.
The stock motor is very good at low revs. even with the tall gearing the factory give they move off the line well. However a cam moves the torque curve up the rev range and without a corresponding lowering of final drive ratio it can be disappointing down low. on a dyno you will probably also find it very rich as the cam is providing less vacum down low than stock. |

no they did not tell me it needed dyno but when i went back they were kinda vage in telling me what kinda tuning it needed.
my specs are not the same as his but it should go kind round the same, shouldn't it? but yes it does make the power that i am talking bout once it hits 3-3500rpm its all over if its a rolling start

nar i am too lazy for a manual and i like the low rpm at high speeds cos i do alot of freeway driving.
one other bloke told me i should sell the cam and buy the eb ed xr6 cam because he said alot of testing has been done on other cams and they have found the xr6 cam to be the best for the motor. is there anyway of upping the vacume???

Nothing wrong with the cam.It sounds retarded!!! You need a vernier gear and a decent mechanic to dial it in.If it has a vernier ..take it back to the guys who re did the engine.

How many k's you doen on the motor, did you run it in properly, they really dont loosen up and free rev produce power till a few thousand k's at least, let alone you may have fuel issues or any other number of problems cam not timed correctly, take to a good tune place with at least a thousand k's on it.
