Hi..
Im new to this so please bear with me. I have recently purchased a EL XR8 and i am having a few problems with the central locking.
Regardless if i use the remote or the pushbutton on the dash the central locking does a double take each time. The locks will operate and then imediatly do a second operatuion returning the locks to their original state. I have obtained a new remote and set it up with the same result.
Has anyone any idea what could be happening here??
Any help would be apreciated.
Thanks.

Have you checked to see if one of the actuators is catching ie, not going down like it should?

If you had a EA to EF, you could check each 'plunger' as it moves down. If you see one that sort of clicks as it moves down usually means that the plunger has resistance and the central locking does another go at trying to make it go down. With the EL, you only have the drivers door which makes it hard to locate the problem door.

Perhaps open each door and close it hard whilst sitting in the seat to try and move some of the pushrods and linkages inside each door. Worth a try.

I agree with banarcus. Mine did this not so long ago, pass front actuator was catching slightly, causing the locks to cycle back to unlocked state. Was due to a rubber spacer thing catching on the actuator rod
