Thanks guys. I got stuck with this too when stripping the fairmont. I will have another go at it this weekend. I can't get the doors open enough with all the crap in my garage. Kind of puts a stop on the progress this time of year. I will have to do a proper clean out of all the unnesessary junk I really have no need for.

Hey - Cool. With the time it took you to get off the computer, go to the car, smash the column, and get back to computer - I would suggest this took approx 20minutes of effort.

Now - Can anyone tell me if YOU REALLY HAVE TO TAKE OUT THE STEERING COLUMN?

I got my dash out without removing the steering column, but will I get it back in again?!

Heheheheheh - All good... I didn't get the steering column out as I am allergic to climbing under cars with a jack for no valid reason.

Am now looking at buying another "donor car" which looks a lot like yours - same mags and EF][ and all that. Hmmm... If the guy will do $300 NZ I might just buy it. The mags are in way better knick then mine with more rubber on the fronts too! - Wonder what the mags are worth?!!! Ho

And back to subject at hand... I have now taken the complete dash out of two Fairmonts and one Futura. I now have one out in about half an hour - but am yet to put one back in...!
