Decided to get stuck into pulling the engine apart tonight, anyways i got down to ripping the fuel lines out, but i cant seem to dissconnect them. Do you just pull at them to seperate? or is there a trick? I was trying to get this all ripped out tonight. Pics of what im trying to disconnect Cheers BEN

You need a special tool...Snap-on(bluepoint) make a set. They are sometimes used for A/C connections so if you ask the tool shop make sure you mention that.
You can make a tool yourself but it's much easier to just buy a set. I used a piece of cable tie to form a circle and pushed into the coil spring area of the connector with some pliers. It worked but it wasn't much fun. Note that inlet fuel connector is a larger size than the return one...that's why you need at least two tools. From memory the set had four tools. |

Cut a strip of flat plastic from a Coke bottle and roll it into a circle or if you have some handy, some small emery rolls for a die grinder work well. Very easy to do once you have the knack.

i just take the plastic hose end off ....just push the lock in the centre in (like push lock air lines) then take the whole fuel rail off .....its a good idea to take the fuel pump relay out of the fuse box and wind over with your foot on the gas to get rid of the pressure

Yep thats what I did. It takes a bit of force, so don't think your are going to break it.

Cut very top section off plastic coke bottle (the screw thread) slit it lengthwise. You now have the right tool - you can alter size downwards by cutting out more of the slit. Beauty of using this end of bottle is its stiffness.
Richie.
