Both of these cars look awesome.
I cant wait to see Justin's (forbsy) car all done. I want to see the kit and the new custom interior once all done. |

Heres mine.
Paid $350 for paint, while the white basecoat was included in labour ($4000) by Eastern Creek smash (January 2008). The colour is 'Protec' passion pearl (more or less a cheaper version of HOK passion purple). Also need to note that some body work was done before the respray. Hence the price increase. Did some prep myself, though the strip down and rebuild i did alone. |

Ringa, if you are willing to do the prep and buy the materials, you should just be able to take it to a local bodyshop where they will mask and paint the car for a reasonable price (between $750-$1200), and then at least you know that the paint has been mixed and applied in the right environment. Pick up the phone and call some local shops. But you need to understand that the car will only look as good as the prep work. You can put an awesome gloss on a car and it will show up every little ripple and ding. Also keep in mind the paint system you want the car painted in, 2K, or acrylic. You can put 2K over acrylic primers, but it is best you give the acrylic time to cure fully to avoid shrink back (sanding marks showing up in top coat), and I don't reccomend mucking around with 2K primers yourself at home as without the right precautions you can make yourself pretty crook. Hope this helps.
