Sometimes if there's enough build up of water underneath inside leaks a pretty decent amount of water straight into the boot. I'm planning to sound proof it over the weekend and need to know if anyone has encountered it before I spend hours looking lol.
Cheers.

more importantly than the ford badge is check the plugs which the number plate screws screw into. It screws which are too long are used (not uncommon) water will get in here also.

ford would have read that as provide a boot that leaks for free, so to get around this they made it a non selectable feature. downside was it was also non delteable feature. Sicaflex is your froend once you find the source.

Something to keep in mind is on au's not sure bout ba/bf is that under each lower corner of the rear windscreen is a channel that runs toward the front of the car, towards the end of this channel is an amount of foam rubber designed to stop water reaching the boot cavity as this channel ends up in the internals of the rear quarter and has access to the boot cavity I seen well over a dozen cases of not enough foam rubber placed in this channel and customers with soggy boot mats, Just something to keep in mind.
The best way to find leak is to pull out all the boot trim get in the boot with a torch and have a buddy sray around the boot gaps untill you find the leak easiest and most efficient way to find that bloody leak, believe me I have had to look for enough of the pricks when I was in the trade.
