im gonne see how much my mechanic quotes me tomorrow as my cars going in anyways.
if its not to much ill get them to do it and save me the time. if its pretty pricey ill find parts tomorrow and install them on saturday

if you use a punch on the rivet pin then drill them out I have found this works well.

I have successfully repaired 2 of them. The crappy plastic sleeves get brittle and shatter. The bits of plastic jam up inside the cable drum. The motor itself is generally fine.

I have been making up a new set using motors and cables from a magna. They are a similar deasign but use japanese mechanisms.

I am a serious tight a** so spending almost no $$$.

You can get "new" aftermarket mechs from ebay for about $100 each.

yeah its all done. got it done for $280 at the mechanic the same time as my power steering pump was done.
it was absolutly rooted the cable was in 3 pieces.
cheers for all you help i would have done it myself but i had no car on friday to go buy one anyways

All fixed nice to see & keep a stick or a piece of Conduit in your boot so if the cable snap in any other door you can put the stick/conduit in place to keep the window shut.
