Where do i start......, currently had a NL fairlane with an AU engine in it atm, first transmission was diagnosed as an s5, new valve body and solonoids didn't solve that, ended up breaking a band = no reverse. Bought a rebuilt auto and had it installed today only to discover its shifting hard in all gears- mechanic suggested computer troubles? or engine mounts
any ideas would be helpful cheers jordan |

Chances are you can't do this, but can the gearbox modulation pressure but checked and adjusted if required?
Does the car start and run as normal? Flat spots? Sharp or sudden acceleration with a constant pedal? Oil level, type, condition in the gearbox? Drive shaft secure? Diff secure? Any mods to the throttle body? A few things to look at off the top of my head. |

1)yes, although after resetting the TPS, idle is very low- Gas only
2)None 3)Just the normal ford acceleration 4) New oil was put in today, gearbox rebuilt 15k ago, owner assures me shifted fine before hand 5)i would assume so 6)yes 7)none Going for a diagnostics scan tomorrow |

hey mate you might want to look under the left hand side of the centre console, up near the t bar..... lol could be an electronic shift kit thats turned itself on????

Trust me, ive had shift kits and nothings shifts this hard- almost like the s5 has gone......, tried resetting the tps, shifts hard in 1st and 2nd

lol i no the car. it had a variable shift kit tucked underneath the centre consol unless you already saw that????
