Hey guys,
My newish car (new for me, 5 years old in its life) has an issue. It is a 2003 BA XT Wagon. The front power windows (rear windows are manual) don't work straight away in the car. Sometimes you will have to drive for a good 10 mins before the windows will open/close. What could be causing this? The battery is the original battery that came with the car when it was new (so the battery is 5 years old too). To me its like the battery has to charge up before they work. It also seemss that they take longer to work when its colder, but that might just be my imagination. Thanks for your help. What type of car is this in. It would be helpful, as there it could be a known problem on what ever car you have.

i doubt the battery would have to charge up before the windows could work, lol if the battery didnt have enough in it to move windows then no way would it start the car lol

My mates au did something similair to this he ended up taking the door trim off and looked noticed the tracks were dryier then a nuns C*** *LOL* he got some vasoline and put a fair amount on the rails then left it for a few minutes and lowered the windows little bit by little bit it freed it self up and works like a dream again... try that.

I don't think thats the problem unfortunately. But I will check it out. When you say door trim, do you mean the black strip where the door meets the window on the outside?

ba door trims are easy
2 screws in the bottom like the au. 1 screw on the side of the trim on the inside of the door. pop off the plastic trim in the grab handle...2 screws inside. take out the window switch and unplug. think thats about it. oh yea remove the wing mirror switch from the drivers door like an au, and the pin lock button. been a while since i did mine though. |
