how does it work? it passes vapor through a carbon canister and it sucks it into the engine at pre determined conditions right?

How is it all plumbed up? Im trying to find a vapor leak.

I know it goes from tank -> through a check valve, into carbon canister, then it comes back out and has a solenoid - after that where is it supposed to go?

its connected to the throttle body usualy on the side or on the manifold towards the engine side.

Thanks mate.

Turns out on a BA it has the vacuum tree at the back of the BBM - this has connections for fuel reg, BBM and brake booster.

Under the throttle body on the engine side of the it has a little barb with connections for the PCV valve and the carbon canister.

EF/EL might be similar.

what i know of the carbon canister, it just sucks inexcess fuel vapour when at idle...

there should be a vacum tree near the manifold to a solonoid to the canister and then back up again to the vacum tree.....

The purge solenoid does not operate at idle. The ECU activates the solenoid when the engine is at steady rpm cruising speed under light load conditions.

Cheers..
