Well the story goes like this. I intended on filling up this morning on my way to work, but was running late and kept going, ran it down to 35 on the trip, thinking it wouldnt do any damage... Anyways, I get back in the car after work, and I can hear this slight humming, sounds like its coming from around the petrol filler area... Doesn't seem to change with revs, and that's all I got, so... what have i broke? And how much for a new one?

Petrol pump is gone, cheap if you do it yourself. Replace the fuel filter while you are there.

Probably fuel pump, as it uses fuel to keep itself lubed/cool, so running the tank dry overheats the pump.
not expensive nor overly difficult. |
