It should be noted that the 3.45 gears and carrier will not fit into a 3.08 housing.

Also, changing centres is not what I would call a DIY operation for a backyard mechanic. There are specialist tools and knowledge required and is best left to the experts.

sorry Benj, but i have first hand knowledge that the 3.89's fit in a standard housing. I have them. its an lsd center from an EF fairmont ghia, with r31 skyline 3.89:1 borg warner crown wheel and pinion. fits without any problems whatsoever in an au diff housing, so if you cant get BTR 3.45's into your car your doing it wrong!

Hi

I am happy to be proven wrong, however as your car is an AU it is possible that borg warner used the larger housing and bearings, compared to the eseries cars fitted with the 3.08.

If anyone is able to shed further light on the subject it would be great to have more exact information.

Cheers
BenJ
