Hi guys. changed my02 BA/XT speedo cluster today.
Put a 02 XR6 cluster in.
I expected the traction light to be on but not others.
Warning lights on =
* ABS light.it goes off after couple of minutes driving.
* (!) this is the 2nd light & it goes off when ABS light does.
* Traction light
*Has no lights on chime.
I live in N/W NSW so I rang Armidale Ford & they told me you can not change cluster or the car wont go!
When I told him I had already driven it he said that suprised him! :x
Next was Gunnedah Ford, said they did not have a clue what I can do except put old cluster back in. :x :x
Then I rang J.T.Fossey-one of the biggest ford dealer in NSW outside of Sydney.
They said they were not sure but bring it in & they will hook up to it & see! :x :x :x
Is there a Ford dealer out this way who knows what the F**k they are talking about?
Anyone able to help?

There's a tech doco on this site which should be able to help you out with this sort of thing.

its simple, without plugging in the computer and setting the parameters (ie no traction control etc) it will do all sorts of strange things.
you cant expect them to be able to tell you exactly what is wrong without having a look at your car, in case you have a faulty cluster, or some other issue with the car.

Hey Vertg0, yeah I have that printed out thanks!
 I dont know a lot about this, but i realise that it needs to go to Ford & be hooked up to & changes made but the 3 places I rang had no idea of how or what needed to be done!
Tamworth is a 280km drive, long way to go to be told to put old cluster back in eh?

:D Has anyone had these things done at a Ford dealer in the -Newcastle-Maitland area as I have a trip down there in couple of days.

 Just had another thought.
Maybe someone can explain to me what Ford needs to do,then I could explain it over the phone to them- until I found a dealer out here who knows how to do it!
Thanks for any advice thats forthcoming.

:D Ok I think I have it sussed!
Is this right,
1) I need them to configure Traction control & Speedo Can input to get its readings from the Power Train Control Module & not the Traction Control Module?
2)Speedo calibration settings to be taken from V.I.D ?

Is this close???????????

it would have abs - but the ABS/TCS systems are linked so when u sort the TCS light the ABS light should sort itself out too.

Cool thanks!
I'm sure I will have lots more learning to do when the ELM turns up!
