Was given an offer yesterday to buy a set of brand new stainless steel HM headers (p/n - hm103ss) for well under the RRP
{DESCRIPTION} problem is i really wanted the ceramic coated pacemaker ph4001 tri-y {DESCRIPTION} the measurements of the pacies are listed on their website but the only thing listed on the hm site is the size of the outlet (2 1/4") which is the same on both parts. does anyone know the diameters of the hm headers compared to that of the pacies? is anyone running the hm header and are you happy with them? is it worth the extra cash for the pacemaker's both products have their pros' and con's HM Pro - interchangeable between both HO and GT40p heads - price Con - Measurements unknown - not ceramic coated pacemaker Pro - ceramic coated - general consensus from people i talk to with them is that they work and are worth the cash Con - price - only suited for the gt40 style heads At this current point in time the engine is standard with original HO Heads and manifold with the exception of an au 65mm t/b(which is why the hm headers are more appealing ATM)but i do have the complete top end from a 220kw motor that is waiting to go on when i get the cash to freshen up the bottom end. any help/thoughts are very much appreciated cheers

difference between ph4000 and ph4001 are the spark plug boots angles. Both extractors are the same, and both will fit onto E7 and gt40p's. Get the ph4000 now and when you swap your heads get the spark plug boots to suit.

so are you saying the pacemakers are the way to go also with the ignition leads would having the correct angled boot require them to be custom made or are they an off the shelf item cheers for the reply

PH4001 are the AU part number, I always thought they were entirely different to get around the steering arm??
If they're not, will the PH4006s fit an E-Series???

Yes PH4001 and PH4006 are for AU and i belive there is clearance issues against steering arm on an e-series.
Im running PH4000's on my ute and no complaints here. Then again i have never seen or used HM headers on a windsor.

also running PH4006 and their a great extractor was recommended them over the tri y's (PH4001's) for more top end power.
and the only ones listed for E-series are the PH4000's with tri-y so u dont have much choice i guess!

That i cannot answer from experience. I think they do but have also heard some people say they needed 90 degree spark plug lead boots. Im sure they cant be that much hassle.

PH4000 do bolt up to GT40P & yes you need 90 deg boots & #5 plug will be a b**ch to get to.

Richie Spot on. I don't know anything about HM's headers for the Windsor but I do know that the PH4000's are a great design for helping low to mid range area which is what I like the most, lots of torque down low. The 90° boots are required for at least a few plugs as they are a very tight fit. I have done that and left 45° boots on the remaining plugs as they had heaps of clearance. I also have kevlar sleeves fitted over the top of the 90° boots as added protection - money well spent in my opinion.
