Hi, just purchased a couple of XF ute's, a 89 and a 92 with LPG. Both running column shift and I assume 3-spd auto?

I'm going to keep the 92 and would like to upgrade the gearbox first. I would like to keep the gearbox auto and also move the shifter to the floor where I plan on building a custom centre console.

What is a good gearbox to look out for? At this stage I'm just looking for the simplest bolt up solution.

Is it much of a hassle moving from column shift to floor shift?

Cheers.

You could try a C4 auto. Although they're an older design, they seem to be quite popular & can be modified with heavy duty clutches (so a local transmission bloke says).

Not sure how you'd go fitting a BTR 4 speed from an E-Series Falcon.
