So is this right, you can adjust your cam (offset it a few degrees) to make it kick in earlier or later in the rev range? and is that done with the timing gear?

Does it involve pulling the front or rocker cover of your engine at all?

(Sorry if this is a minor hi-jack)

You can only adjust it a few degrees with a Vernier Camshaft Sprocket. A stock cam sprocket can't be dialed/adjusted to advance or retard the cam slightly.

If you do have a Vernier gear, then you can adjust the cam so that it can either kick in earlier or later. All that needs to be pulled out to adjust the cam gear, is the rocker cover. But you'll need to have a dial gauge to dial the cam in properly to get the best out of it...can't just really judge it by eye.

What were you expecting though? Lets just hope not a turbo kick :?

I think this cam was worth the penny. For the price you pay, you get heaps of improvement. Either that or you need to fine tune it to get the most out of it.

I was expecting some sort of a difference - it feels pretty much stock except for a slightly lumpier idle. I wasnt expecting a turbo kick lol, not for a coupla hundred bucks anyway.
I think extractors + exhaust gave a bigger gain than this cam atm.

Cam is set at 0 degrees.

Did you end up getting the second hand one?? If so , are you sure it was the 1673? or even a wade grind? Because many people including myself, are using this cam with great results and are extremely happy with it. Also, what diff gearing have you got? What condition is the motor in? Because those sort of things could also have a bearing on how you feel the results.
