hi guys, i was reading the BA DOHC engine into EB post and i want to ask the following. i mightn't do a ba engine conversion but i may do a el or au xh engine conversion and want to ask the following.

what wires are classed as the main part of the engine harness to run the engine of the engines ecu and the original cars ecu to run the rest of the car?

if that still goes ahead using the later engines ecu to run the engine and the cars ecu to run the rest, how do you make the original cars trip computer work still like it should when the engines in and running off the engines ecu when the rest of the cars ran by the cars ecu?


how do you piggyback the ecus together like the owner of the car with the ba engine conversion into eb did so the engine works off a different ecu to what the rest of the car is so the original dash/interior can be kept so the cars still looking original?

mate search button does wonders

but just incase its not working to the best of its ability then:

you wont need to run dual ECU's to run a conversion engine from a AU, passenger side of the bay runs the ECU harness and driverside is mainly electrical side of things.

last of all helpfull hint of the day: do some research into it bit more.

i just may want to do a full el/au engine conversion but i still want the original cars trip computer to work. to do what the person in the ba engine in eb 5 spd did what main wires for running just the engine do i need to disect from the rest of the harness
