I have been having trouble with my headlights blowing. I tested the lights and they are at 14volts. When under load they go to 13.5. I was told the maximum for lights should be 12volts.
Is my regulator stuffed and where abouts is it located so it can be replaced?

OK. First don't touch the glass it's a no no. If you do wipe it with a dry cloth very good.
Second maybe you are using cheep globes. Try using philips globes they are a number 1 product.
Third maybe you mite have a intermintant over charging problem.
Last but not leased check the headlight plugs if they are overheated or loose.
GOOD LUCK.

Your regulator is working OK at 14 volts, the person that told you 12 volts max. is dreaming.

I am using plus 50s which are a $35 globe so no they not cheap. And i know not to touch the glass and the plugs are fine.

So my reg being at 14v means it's no good and could be causing the problem?
