Hi guys and gals
Quick question i was talking to a bloke the other day about the thermo fans having 3 speeds to keep the noise down, does anyone know how to skip the first two speeds and only have the highest setting run to keep the car cool all the time???? |

My EA has EL thermos and cant even hear them at all mind you the lumpy idle and exhaust might have something to do with that.

... I wasn't aware that there was ever a sound issue???
They have multiple speeds as not just crank it at full speed if you're just stopping at a set of lights for 10 mins... And yes there is a way, bypass the thermo relay box, and just run one (big enough) relay to switch them on and off... seconds thoughts, run two relays, one for each fan. Cheers

direct power it will go straight into highest speed so jsut wire to a relay and switch either toggle or aftermarket thermo switch

just run a relay so one fan is at full noise at all times whilst the car is running. I'm running my other fan off a switch so its only on when things get a little heated
everyone must admit this fans are no where near as bad as the old skool fans ! |

Correct. The problem with this is, the car never gets close to being warm. The ECU just stays in the warmup cycle and the car runs rich, and sucks the fuel. I just had my relays fixed. Damn dodgy previous owners. The easiest way to force them on is to turn on your Air Con, and whack the fan onto 3 or Boost, presuming you have an EF/L. I assume the same trick works for an AU as well.
