Hi there i am driving a 2002 fairmont ba, it has the 6 stack in dash cd player, i was wondering if there is anyway to remove this and mod the dash somehow to fit a standard cd player. Or as i hav seen some pics of ppl doing is fitting the cd player to the bottom of the dash.... i was wondering if there is any face plate you can buy to attach, so i can put one in.. i hav attached a pic of the current setup i have in my car.. Any help would be great :D

theres a mod on ebay for this. replaces the tissue box under the icc unit with a din unit that fits an aftermarket deck. din unit is done in the same colour and finish as the icc so it looks factory. ive got one in my ba looks good.

http://cgi.ebay.com/Ford-Excursion-Car-Stereo-Radio-Dash-Install-Kit-Combo_W0QQitemZ120312010549QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item120312010549&_trkparms=72%3A1222%7C39%3A1%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12%7C240%3A1318&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14

no probs btw if you are installing an aftermarket deck i recommend you install new wires running to the speakers. That way you can still use the original stereo to listen to radio if you want. Also if you sell the car its easier to just disconnect the wires so there is no rejoining.

Make sure to post up pics when done and let us know how hard it was (i imagine it's easy) as i will be looking at editing my current setup shortly

colour is a good match for the satin chrome, and it screws in using the tissue box screws and holes. plus you can keep the power supply aswell. almsot looks factory. good for front loading decks, but doesnt work with flip face decks.
