I have what appears to be a small crack in my turbo manifold, its a stainless manifold from snort, the older style manifold, ie log type, not the tuned length ones, Just wondering, is this an easy job for a welder to fix?
it looks about 20-25mm long, and appears to have cracked on an exsisting weld, just under the wastegate. Reccomend anyone in Sydney south area who may be suitable? Cheers, Dave

yeah found one nice and close.. but still no indication on cost.. most do not want to touch it, but found a guy attached to a smash repairer who comes highly recommended.
Anyone with price indications?

I could do it........if you can bring it to me. I just might do it for free.
Personally, if there is one crack now, there could be many later on... Cheers Daz

yeah I know it will be a cheap fix, what I intend to do is get this fixed for now, while i get some $$ together to buy the tuned length snort manifold. Anyone got a price on one of those by the way?

Cheers Daz I'll keep that in mind, gotta see if this guy local is gonna bend me over or not first. would end up costing me $20 in fuel in the astra + time to get my a** to kellyville, if i can get it done for $30ish local i'll go that option, if not i'll let you know, cheers Daz.. Drill a hole at the end of crack . Then weld it.. It's not that hard, even a mig welder can do it.. Excess heat through too much boost or retarded timing ?? Maybe ?? Some support ? Strengthening may help, sounds like heat and expansion is happening in one area ...
