Has anyone modified a hardlid to rise vertical instead of back openning only ? adding two extra gas struts etc.

i've had a look into for my old ute.
i was given the impression that all you needed was 4 gas struts on each corner that will cause it to be able to rise angular and straight up vertical. hope that helps abit lol.

I think 3 on each side would work better ?

I like this idear but what will stop the lid flopping around and it will also have to lock at the front . 3 struts may make it hard to pull up and push down i thjnk it will take a bit of nutting out but would be awsome once dunn ,would make it alot easyer to get to all our gear in the back.
