I'm thinking about upping the size of the injectors on my xr6.
Just curious what size they are now, and if the xr6t items are a straight swap or if there's something inbetween them that would be better.

AU injectors are 19lb, they won't hold you back until you hit 160-170rwkW. XR6T injectors are 29lb, same as all BA I6's. The AU fuel reg is about 2.7 bar (the AU XR6 one might be 3.0 bar IIRC) and the XR6T 4.0 bar reg is a straight swap which will extend the fuel delivery a bit. I haven't tried fitting XR6T injectors, but I do have a bag of 6 in my shed ATM, along with the original injectors from my AU. I'll put them side-by-side later.

standard au is 3 bar as well as the AU injector requires a 3 bar pressure

No they are different. No injector "requires" any particular pressure, they just flow more at higher pressures. I took my original reg out to install the 4.0 bar reg supplied in the Raptor kit, it was stamped 2.8 IIRC. And the Ellery's manual states "Fuel pressure, Engine stationary, 275kPa / 300kPa (XR6)". This tells you that the MPEFI engine has a 2.75 bar reg and the XR6 has a 3.0 bar one.
Either way, fitting a 4.0 bar XR6T reg is a quick & easy way to get the stock injectors to flow more. About $130 from Ford, but should be much cheaper from a wrecker.

but will just upping the pressure help I was under the understanding that you dont want to have the injectors working at more than 80% duty cycle?
The package that I'm putting in should produce 170-190rwkw and I don't want it to run out of fuel up top

i was under the assumption that a 3 bar injector needed a 3 bar reg to be most effiecent. im still running the 270 in my car and it works fine.
but then again assume makes an a** out of you and me, as the saying goes. http://www.bosch.com.au/content/languag ... ectors.pdf bit of info there on the different types

The package that I'm putting in should produce 170-190rwkw and I don't want it to run out of fuel up top I thought duty cycle had something to do with the pulse widths - ie the time spent open. Maybe I'd better check that tutorial hey? And one of the quick & dirty "fixes" in boosted cars is to use a risng-rate reg, which delivers fuel pressures far higher than stock regs under boost, overdriving the stock injectors to buggery. But bigger injectors is the better way to go... knowing your power target helps LOL! Anything from 24lb injectors up should suit that power, as you're just over the stockers' limit. And XR6T injectors can be had cheaply from ebay as I'm sure you already know. Other than that, injectorsonline.com.au have a good product page with info about the various sized injectors.

AU 6cyl injectors are 20lb, AU XR8 Injectors are 24lb, and as said above all BA 6cyl Injectors are 29lb.
