Just wondering if there is any where I can read up on painting my own car from start to finish, as in what paint, how I prepare it and so on.

Also, how do I go about painting my calipers?

Calipers is easy. High temp paint like the VHT brand in a can is the go.

Just a matter of cleaning the old calipers with some degreaser , giving a thorough rinse, perhaps a light sand if need be and just paint them. A plastic bag over the disc will protect it and tap everything you dont want covered in paint.

As for body work and prep, i'd be looking at a Tafe course (maybe nights) or something similar. It isnt as easy as painting a wall, thats why people do a trade with that sort of thing. But a night course in Tafe on panelbeating/ spraypainting will be a smalll investment, but will teach you properly.

Painting a car is not as easy as you think its not just rub back and apply new paint.

if you have no idea dont attempt it. if your going to paint your car with only the knowledge being a thread you read on here then i would love to see what it turns out like.

im studying this at tafe and there is a lot more to it than just painting
