BA motor wont drop straight in, neither will an AU motor.
You need to mod the K frame for both, and more than likely the bonnet for the BA motor.
Also have fun with wiring in the BA motor.

If you have a fat wallet and time is no object go for it. But please for the sake of your own and everone elses lifes upgrade the brakes first!!! The Ford`s brakes are barely satisfactory on a stock slug.

AU motor can fit, can modify sump (better alternative) and drop it straight in.

BA motor is a whole different story. K-frame needs to be modified and engineered to be road legal.

Either option will end up costing heaps of money, engineering for legalities, not to mention insurance issues if under certain age.

phong =P~

oh yeah lol im not saying it would be easy you would need a s**t load of cash and alot of time. i have a mate that put an rb25 twin turbo in his VL and it cost him a s**t load of money and he did it him self. but at the end of it all it was the first vl i called cool.

thats funny considering THEY BOLT IT, the engine mounts bolts straight on and they fall in. there is a handfull of wires to connect the stock ECU and a bit of stuffing around with the cooling system and the intercooler.

hardly an expensive or time consuming job.

back on topic though.
it wouldn't be hard if you are mechanicly minded. but if you were to do it, at least bolt the RB26 head onto an RB30 bottom end. that way it would have 'some' torque

Yeh Phong, I said the AU will fit - but its not a drop in, and modifying the K frame is a MUCH better idea if done right, as it adds structural integrity, ie, cutting the K frames width in half, then welding a piece of steel vertically across the K frame.

AU and BA motor will have nil impact on insurance and engineering as its the same litreage as stock, basically the same motor - unless you boost it.

The rb25 or 26s have plenty of torque its only the rb20 that is lacking. Plenty of rb30 bottom end 25 top ends have been done with fantastic results. Just need to make sure its done right.

Define plenty of torque?
Is any available below 4000rpm?

by the sounds of it as usual the rice burner boys have their power, torque and talk all mixed up.

why not just buy a skyline as mentioned before, better handling and performance also you can be like all the other heros that take that power and handling and drive it hard and fast straight into a tree or an innocent un suspecting motorist.

get an idea about power delivery and balance then start deciding how your going to waste your money on killing youself. and do us all a favour and get your mates to post it on utube so we can all have a giggle if it ever happens.

falcons were never sports cars and they never will be, their a family work horse. thats what makes them a drivers car eg: it's more a matter of skill rather than how much money you have to spend on your rice burner.

they just don't have torque at low RPM.

and it's not hard to get a RB30 twincam engine 'right' just need to make sure you end up with the right compression.
