I've got my Fairlane dome light in the ghia, (finally!) but its wired incorrectly.

I checked all the lines with a Multimeter and found the line that has power when the doors are opened, and so assumed the other one would have constant power.

Unfortunately I found after wiring it up, and getting it all into the roof nice a sweet, that the Map lights won't come on, unless the dome light is on!!

Obviously I've wired it wrong, (they even fade out with the rest of the interior lights) so this being the case, what pins on the dome light are for what purpose??

Thanks!

oh and the new dome light looks classy too ;-)

yeah mate thats no problem, anytime. :(

with the map lights you can run a new constant wire, they can be turned on at anytime. their might be a constant power wire up there somewhere already.

well, the old map lights used to come on at any time.. this was the wire I used for the new map lights. but something must be wrong.

I'm wondering if I have the ground on the wrong pin?

possibility, check all the connections again, the map lights with have seperate power from the dome light, you can earth them just about anywhere, even to the same place.
