Im surprised that someone who doesnt know what a starter motor looks like is attempting this conversion.
Or the fact that they dont know that engine mounts are rubber, if it was solid mounted to the car you would feel every rpm. But anyway, good luck.

haha yeah mate gotta start somewhere undo this bolt, undo that bolt, riggle here, curse there pretty straight forward just the fiddley bits and space constrictions are what gets ya
Gearbox is out, just need to get the rest of the bits and pieces off- mainly just the sandwich plate and clutch + flywheel. Not in a rish for the clutch or flywheel as have no need for the 3 bolt variety. Should be an EA - ED (EBII) T5 up for sale soon if anyone's interested. Not in too bad a nick, been sitting in the EB for the last 3 months or so after I completly fryed the head by not fitting a 'low coolant' sender, a new car + a parts car is always cheaper then a rebuild. Has about 200,000kms through it. Price at present is negoitable, make an offer. I might be able to get a complete conversion kit up if someone is interested enough but at the moment just the box for say..... $550? Also have an EF auto box to go - thinking about $300? Load them PMs up and fire'em my way guys Last edited by TK_vose on Sun Oct 12, 2008 3:15 am, edited 2 times in total. |

nolathane acutally make nolathane ones heaven forbid. wouldn't go near them the rubber ones are bad enough.
the auto is heavy because of how much oil it holds with the convertor. still not that heavy. ea t5 for 550 but ef 4speed auto for 300 ? has the t5 got gold gears or the auto shagged ?

Because an ef 4 speed auto isn't even worth that, common as all mother f**k and worth jack sweet s**t as a result, a t5 on the otherhands is even possibly rare and somewhat sort after desired, hence it's premium.
Plain and Simply, suppl v demand for each.
