Hey guys.
Problem with my EF. Whenever it starts, it idles really shockingly. i have to keep revs up so it won't stall or ping or anything. after a bit, it gets back into a decent idle rpm. now i THINK it's clogged somewhere, or it's just dirty. gonna take off the intake hose and spray carby cleaner into the body. hoping it may work. if not, what would i do? would idling like this (as in, having to rev it up to about 1500 just to keep it up, from cold too.) have any detrimental effects on the engine? |

try cleaning out your ISC (sits on top of the throttle body) and your throttlebody, the 02 sensor could be shagged as well

If the Idle speed control is gummed up it will idle rough.
Carby cleaner may help otherwise remove ISC & clean passage ways. Just out of curiosity- what type of air cleaner do you run?

Hay, I have a similar problem to this where at idle the rev move from about 600 to 900 rpm...
Is this normal? I am thinking of cleaning the idle speed controler and getting a new fuel filter.... I Have a BA falcon. |

The BA's have a wire mesh screen inside the fuel regulator that is known to cause idle issues when it get's full off crap. You will see the fuel regulator at the back of the fuel rail and the clamp that needs to be removed to allow access to the screen.
