i have this old 1989 NA fairlane and the 3spd is dead, i was wondering how difficult it would be to put in a 4spd from an ED falcon.

I know it just bolts straight off and i can bolt the 4spd on but in the way of changing looms etc.

what am i in for?

you WILL need to install the newer computer. you will have to have a look as you MIGHT have the plugs there for the gearbox computer already. EA's use a seperate gearbox computer where as the EB II onwards are all in the main ECU.

you would have to look at the wireing before i can tell you any more. if you have a ED there you can take bits from just do the full loom, engine and box conversion

your going to have to look under your dash to see if you have the plug for the gearbox computer. sits on the passenger side of the handbrake under the dash
