hi i tried searching for an answer but the search here is a joke as we know and i hope this is the right place to post.
i have 1990 s pac laser 4 spd auto, recently replaced transmission 1000ks ago, all of a sudden the hold light started flashing intermittently one friend says its probably nothing another said your transmission is going to die again you have to pay $55 for test at bridgestone(?) plus whatever it costs to fix it when they find the problem. any advice please help. |

id say a bad connection to the hold button. if you take the hold button off does the light stop flashing?

Who replaced you transmission? Take it back to them, if it was a reco you should have atleast 12months warranty. Even if it was a 2nd hand trans you should have 3 months.

I wouldn't be surprised if there is a way to pull the fault codes out of it without giving mechnics your dosh, maybe try a mazda forum or the like cause i'm sure they'll be able to help more.

thanks everyone for input, the light stays off until i start driving it and the gears change then it starts flashing, regardless if you press the hold button or not, yesterday it started dripping fluid and now the leak has slowed but the gear changing has changed, it jolts or it holds on til high revs b4 changing, replaced transmission was a selling point on this car 4 weeks ago, i think this ones a lemon, im in a predicament cause i bought it from a mate and his brother inlaws the mechanic, also the brakes lock up really easy is that normal for this model?
