Hey guys
Just wondering What power levels can be reached with basic mods (exhaust, intake, chip) on Au xr8's. If anyone owns one that can give me an idea of power figures etc... and what they think of the car. This is because im thinkin of buying one but without ever driving one b4 am unsure of what can be done or what to expect. |

The AU V8s are a good base for mods because they have good flowing heads and intake plus decent throttle body, MAF and injectors. Depending on series 1 (185kw) 2 (200kw) or 3 (220kw), it will have 120-150rwkw stock and with a decent exhaust, cam and possibly chup you can be around 180rwkw quite easily.

In general terms a properly matched exhaust with intake can give you up to 30rwkw. The chip doesn't give a great deal but improves responsiveness and makes it feel a s**t load better.

Or you could go all out and get a BA XR8 and have around 190kw at the wheels to start of with then with a simple exhaust and Boss edit around 230 - 240kw at the wheels. Pluss they are getting cheaper every day

ive got a series 1 xr8 it was fully optioned from new and is supposed to be 200kw(dont know if this is true) ive put a k&n filter in it,tickford snorkle, and an exhaust power wise dont know what it has but i drove straight past a ba non turbo xr6 on winton raceway, mines a manual and as for the car i love it,but if you can afford it go for a series 2 or 3 more power and a bit more refined
