just wondering if it would be illegal to paint a number plate a differnt colour than it came from vic roads.. ( i'm thinking white with black letters).. cheers

Yeah, im pretty sure it is illegal. Have you tried going in to Vicroads and asking if you can get your plates changed over for free or a small fee??

You never know.

Sounds like your in the wrong state, you should be in SA. Thats what we have.... So seriously doubt they will allow it.... Possible way around it is custom plates but not up on Vicroads stuff.

Every State has a set color from memory on standard plates.

If you want white with black letters then SA is the place to be LOL

wish i could tape over the white letter's and spray my plate in "breeze"... 8-) my plate's are currently a couple of shade's too green..

NSW has the black on white as well they were our standard plate for a few months, but now i think they can only be gotten if you get a custom plate and spend the extra dough

You can get standard issue plates in vic in pretty much any colour you want, except white with black lettering LOL
Can't even get custom plates in that.
They do the 'pop plates' for like 110, just your standard issue plate in a diff colour. Can order online.
